The jewelry designs that came from the Mazahua artisans in the Teluca area of Mexico,were deeply influenced by the arrival of the 1500's Spanish conquest who brought with them their designs,with many  becoming some of the most popular designs to this present day..
These are made with an authentic look of Mexico,but with that SW touch of Santa Fe!!The turquoise is 'signature' Sleeping Beauty is a bright vivid blue known to that mine.. They are delicate in size,but with all their vibrancy,they are well noticed!
This particular earring I have always believed,has to be one of the most popular earrings, because not only do they give you this fantastic authentic Mexican look,but they are extremely wearable without going over the top & tend to say more,with less! Plus,they are super SEXY on!!!(I know because I own quite a few!) They are neither too big,nor too small & give you  that 'just right' look!
They are totally hand fabricated by skilled Oaxaca artists who know how to make this earring the same way it was back in the Spanish Colonial days..From all the detailing in the sterling, to the meticulous detailing in the doves that give them their realistic markings.
Personally what I love about the choice of using turquoise,is for the fact of how well the color is brought out when put against the lightly oxidized metal! It does wonders for the stones color & is the perfect balance between metal & stone! Filigree wire follows the outline & is the anchor for the dangles to hold onto.
These are not only great for everyday wear,but would make a perfect Wedding Earring! They have love & romance written all over them & are one of the most feminine earrings you will own!!
