    Description

    Antique French M1866 Saber Bayonet measuring 27.5" overall with a blade length of 22.75".  Scabbard and quillon shows scattered pitting, handle has been painted black, scabbard painted silver.  Blade looks very good with original shine and some mixed age patina, wear, use,.  Serial no matches on the Bayonet and scabbard, # 47312.  Spine top of blade stamped, Tulle April 1872.  Press-stud is frozen.  A good piece for restoration, paint can be removed, and oil and some tapping will allow the press-stud ejector to work again.
