Offering this amazing condition dated and identified 19th century 7th New York Militia Tunic. The 7th New York, known as the “Silk Glove Regiment” was the premier New York City militia of the 19th century, and included many members of the wealthy upper class. This “undress” tunic ( worn when doing general duties and not parading) was made by the renowned and costly Ridabock Company of5th Avenue, and owned by R.E. McClellan of D Company, and is dated April 1882 on the tag. The uniform is in rather incredible condition for its age, with no fading tears or spoilage, and the only thing missing being the shoulder flap buttons.
