Indian Wars US Cavalry 1881 Pattern Holster 5th Type Colt & S&W RIA

Description

A very nice 1881 pattern holster for the Colt and S&W revolver with a 5th type belt attachment.  The 5th type attachment was designed to fit over the larger Mills cartridge belt.  The holster is marked Rock Island Arsenal with a TC inspector stamp.  The RIA marking is faint but present.   This holster appears to be in unissued condition with the Colt and S&W markings still present on the inner flap.  NOW THE BAD NEWS....Unfortunately even though the rest of the holster is in remarkable condition the stitching along the front of the holster has separated.  Not sure why this happened perhaps bad thread to start with. I've seen this before.  However, the thread is still tightly in place and the seam lays flap making it easy to glue back together.  Good leather glue and you would never know the thread separated.   Bid plus actual shipping charges to include insurance.
