    Description

S180P, Lunescloss marked on this very rare, interesting and becoming saw back bayonet, obviously from the Franco-Prussian War period of the 1870's, may be French, German, or? Extremely well made and in very good used condition. Brass grip and functional detachment device, steel cross guard, 19" fuller-ed blade and sharp saw teeth (actually designed for cutting firewood, rescuing people from collapsed structures and even emergency sawing off of damaged limbs, among other uses.) Overall length 23.75", don't know what gun it fitted, but my guess would be M1866 French Chassepot, or something similar to the 11 mm. Last owner said it was a war souvenir his Grandfather brought home during WW1. All original and complete, ship weight is 4 pounds.
