M1879 Combination Tool for Springfield Trapdoor - Original Indian War

Description

The U.S. Model 1879 Combination Tool for the Springfield Trapdoor was the first regulation non-altered gun tool adopted after the Civil War.
It incorporates a mainspring clamp, two screwdrivers and a band spring and tumbler punch.
It is clearly marked "U.S. Mod 1879".
This tool is in excellent condition.  It retains much of its original bluing, and the swinging arm moves easily.
