See my other auctions for more early American military insignias-both dug and non-dug.  Very nice original pin used by a soldier of the 2nd Infantry. Not sure what the anchor and "BB" signifies. Early stamped brass insignia that that has a lead filled reverse.  Nice condition. These date to the 1870's-1880's period, and are far rarer then the solid brass type that were developed in the 1890's.  Measures approx. 2 1/2" wide.  Great display item!
