    Description

    ORIGINAL U.S. ARMY MODEL 1881 HELMET SIDE BUTTONS 21 PIECE LOT OLD BANNERMAN STOCK.  This lot of buttons is from old Bannerman stock and are recently out of an estate.  These buttons were attached to either side of the U.S. Model 1881 helmet.  There are 21 buttons in this lot - 4 buttons are for artillery (crossed cannons) and the other 17 buttons are for infantry (crossed rifles).  The lot is in overall very good condition with the exception of 6 of the buttons that show age oxidation to include 2 of the artillery & 4 of the infantry - see photos.  All of the buttons have the prongs on the reverse.  An interesting lot from Bannermans just out of decades of storage!
