    Description

Here is a unique and seldom encountered set of 1872 Era shoulder paddles with integral breast cords.
The breast cords are most often encountered as a separate add-on device.
In this case they are a portion of the shoulder paddle and cannot be separated therefrom.
These paddles are presumably for Staff usage as indicated by the black field of the paddles.
There is no rank designation affixed and it does not appear there ever was.
The small Eagle buttons both have surface corrosion which has not spread to the surrounding bullion cords.
The black woolen backings of the paddles seem to be insect bite free and are in quite good condition.
There is wear to one of the end loops which affix to the uniform.
Otherwise they are in rather clean condition.
Note that it is the shoulder paddles and cords only that are listed
    .
The uniform is NOT for sale in this listing but is in its own listing.
