    Description

ORIGINAL AND SELDOM FOUND ARTILLERY BRIDLE MADE DURING THE INDIAN WAR BY ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL.
THIS IS THE SAME PATTERN USED DURING THE CIVIL WAR WITH THE LARGE HEAVY "USA" ENTERTWINED ROSETTES AND ALL HORSESHOE SHAPE BUCKLES MADE OF IRON WITH THE BRASS PLATING ON THE OUTSIDE.
THIS IS A SUPERBLY PRESERVED SPECIMEN EXCEPT FOR THE BROKEN CURB BILLET ON ONE SIDE. AGAIN THE LEATHER IS LIVELY OVERALL EXCEPT FOR THE BOTTOM BILLET.
THE BROKEN PARTS ARE INCLUDED IN THIS SALE AND I HOPE THAT SOMEONE CAN DUPLICATE AND RESTITCHED TO REPAIR THIS FINE HEADSTALL.
I HAVE INCLUDED MANY PICTURES TO SHOW HOW THE PIECES FIT TOGETHER. I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THE PARTS COULD BE SIMPLY GLUED BACK TOGETHER.
