S117E, Marked ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL 1908 EK, for 45/70 & 30-40 Krag calibers, steel wire armature is bent and welded to mount and hold leather trimmed canvas bucket on brass breech housing at fed port, up close to ejection port. Recovering spent brass was essential at target practice and other exercises to justify economy of the gun on which re-loading of same is depended (as advertised by mfg in it's price list of 9/1/1886), in overall good used condition, good leather is a bit dry from age, good stitching and good markings, extremely rare item. Discovered among the effects of a well known Gatling gun collector of Philly, PA, recently deceased (id divulged to buyer only), it is possible this is the only surviving specimen. Thus its value as a pattern for authentic reproductions is self-evident, all original, ship weight is 3 pounds.
