US M1870 Springfield Trapdoor Rifle and Carbine Combination Tool - Original

Description

This tool for the Model 1870 Springfield Trapdoor Rifle and Carbine was converted from the surplus M1863 Percussion Musket tools that were left over after the Civil War.
The primary modification was the ground down screwdriver bit on the swinging blade to fit the smaller screws found in the breech of the M1868 and M1870 longarms.
The swinging blade moves easily.
