US Military 1898 Indian War Mounted Service Cavalry Parade Helmet M1881

Description

For sale is an original Indian War cavalry dress/parade helmet. This is a black felt cavalry pattern helmet. It has brass buttons embossed with the crossed swords of the cavalry on the sides. On the front is a cast brass Army Eagle and Shield insignia. The helmet has a yellow horse hair hair plume indicating a member of the cavalry and is edged in patent leather with a russet leather sweatband on the inside. See pictures for best description.
