Very Rare Brass Percussion Cap Gravity Feed Dispensor May 14, 1872 Patent. I have been unable to find out much information on this piece. I suspect it it British Army issue, but I would not swear to it. The patent date is clear and readable. There are no further marking that I could find. The condition is excellent. It has only minor imperfections in the brass, the eye is in good shape, the spring loaded dispensing mechanism works well and properly releases one cap at a time as intended. It has a nice patina. It measures 3 1/3” x 1 1/8” and is 1/4” thick. It contained about 30 old caps. It is probably best not to ship those. This is a really cool old piece that I picked up in a box lot at a local auction.
