. The few you MAY have seen being described as "ORIGINAL and selling as "original" are actually "fake" representations of a topper that AGAIN, was NEVER an "old" collectable antique. The "few" that HAVE sold for 0-0 are NEW toppers, (actually made in the last several years), treated with acids and chemicals to accelerate the aging process, to make them look "old and rusty", and to deceive the buyer/collector. I have done research on this item and have learned that PEMEX, (which stands for PETROLEOS MEXICANOS), represented Mexico's "state owned" petroleum company. PEMEX travel literature WAS made over the years and many authentic brochures and literature is out there. It's the PEMEX plate toppers that were NEVER made back in the 1940's, 1950's, 1960's, 1970's, 1980's or even in the 1990's! Basically, ANYONE who has a "rusty old PEMEX topper" who claims it's an "original" is a person who was duped, fooled and "tricked" into paying some CrAZy price for a "FAKE FANTASY" item. DON'T be fooled into bidding and buying a "vintage" PEMEX plate topper because there is NO SUCH THING. Do some research and you will see that an "antique" PEMEX topper is
non-existent
. It is COMMON sense that if you research something, (for example the PEMEX plate topper), and you can find NO photos, information or ANY reference dating back over the years it did NOT exist. If it DID exist, one would find "old photos" from years ago showing the PEMEX topper. Again, SOLID PROOF that the PEMEX license plate topper is a NEW item and NOT vintage. Those that say otherwise are likely the VERY persons responsible for the fake PEMEX toppers.
I CHALLENGE anyone out there to show me a photograph from BEFORE the year 2000 that has an "original" PEMEX plate topper. Just show me that photograph. It does NOT exist because "vintage" original PEMEX plate toppers were NEVER made decades ago. PERIOD.
I suggest buyers take notice of the few sellers that are selling PEMEX toppers as "authentic" vintage pieces. These sellers change their user names frequently, have a history of MANY "BAD BUYER" experiences and continue to sell through deception. These SAME sellers just "happen" to have SEVERAL door push and "vintage" signs that are also NOT real. ALL reproductions made to "look "rusty and old. ALL described as "old" and the sellers choose their descriptive words carefully.

of these SAME sellers ALSO reproduce FIRE KING mugs with Peanuts and other collectors pieces. They have moderate success selling these for incredible prices. All sold through deception and "trickery" and they are VERY GOOD AT IT!
This topper for .00 is a great value and we DON'T need to soak it in acid to accelerate the aging process to make it "look old" and rusty. Too many buyers are being deceived by just a few dishonest sellers. I suggest you take a LONG HARD look at who you are buying from what kind of history the seller has. Take a look at their feedback comments over time.
Why bid ALMOST 0 on a "FAKE FANTASY" PEMEX topper that NEVER existed more than 10 years ago. We have sold about 20 of these for .00 and EVERY buyer is completely satisfied. Five buyers were so satisfied they purchased additional PEMEX toppers and they did NOT get deceived OR ripped off by paying almost 0 for FAKE stuff! We can NOT, (will NOT), list or give out ANY seller's names. As an eBay buyer you just need to be vigilant and careful about your purchases and the sellers behind them.
Do some research on PEMEX and you will see the history of the Mexican State petrol distributor. You will NEVER find a photo or ANY proof whatsoever that a PEMEX plate topper even EXISTED more than a few years back. This information, along with basic common sense will educate the buyer and EXPOSE the dishonest sellers of "FAKE" deceptive "FANTASY" auction items. If you bought a "fake topper" send it back! Hold these sellers to a higher standard!
